Local Lodge 2412 IAM Canada & Politics  The Machinists Union has a policy of suporting Labour-friendly governments. In Canada, on a national level, this is the New Democratic Party of Canada, the NDP. The Machinists support all provincial NDP sections except in Québec, where it is the Parti Québecois. The Machinists Union recognizes that only Labour-friendly governments can further the cause of working women and men. Only by working to help elect such governments to power can all Canadians benefit. Machinists have run as candidates for the NDP, have managed political campaigns and have served at every level of election campaigns. The Machinists Union will continue to take the fight to change our society for the better.
